The FA Cup match between Chelsea and Manchester City ended in a 4-0 loss for Chelsea, according to manager Graham Potter.
The Premier League champions had lost twice in a row in only four days.
In a league match, the Blues fell to City 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.
But Potter’s team suffered a crushing defeat at the Etihad due to goals from Riyad Mahrez (2), Phil Foden, and Julian Alvarez.
“The opening 20 minutes were cagey, and we weren’t able to penetrate the backline effectively enough.
“I believe Man City does a great job of preventing you from doing that. We battled at the same time.
It was a terrific first goal in terms of a free-kick shot, a bizarre penalty, and being forced to chase the ball against Manchester City because it was 2-0. You are torn between trying to offend more men and staying closed off, said Potter.
Thursday’s Premier League matchup between Chelsea and Fulham is a London Derby.
