Rio Ferdinand, a former player for Manchester United, has voiced his opinion on the argument about who is the superior player, Casemiro of Manchester United or Thomas Partey of Arsenal.
This season, Partey and Casemiro have excelled for their respective club teams, Arsenal and Man United.
The two defensive midfielders will undoubtedly be strong candidates for a spot in everyone’s team of the season in the English Premier League.
Although Partey and Casemiro have received much appreciation, Ferdinand feels that one player stands out above the other.
“He [Thomas Partey] is actually playing some passes I didn’t know he had,” Ferdinand said on his VIBE with FIVE podcast.
“At Atletico Madrid, did you see those passes? In the Champions League?
“In terms of who is more important to their team, you can argue for both sides. But when you throw the stats in, Casemiro wipes the floor with him.
“I don’t think Partey is good enough defensively to do what Casemiro is doing. I don’t think he has the impact to do defensively what Casemiro is doing for Man United.
“On the ball, he is doing more. He is dictating play for Arsenal man, controlling tempos.”
