After Arsenal defeated Manchester United 3-2 to regain the league lead, Bukayo Saka, a forward, urged his teammates to “keep it up.”
The Gunners defeated the Red Devils on Sunday and earned three points thanks to a fantastic goal from Saka.
You can see how much it means to everyone, he told Sky Sports. We definitely wanted to defeat them for the fans because they are the only team that has defeated us this year. We didn’t have the best start to the game and it wasn’t easy, but we had a lot of grit to fight back and win.
He further stated: “It’s something we can be proud of but we have to stay humble. It’s only halfway through the season and things can change very quickly. But if we keep playing like we have then we’ll be in a good place at the end of the season, we just have to keep it up. The belief we have especially in the Emirates with our fans and how they support us. We went 1-0 down and they still support us, they don’t know how much that helps us. The way the coach is setting us up, too, and the players the coach has brought in.”
Since their most recent match against United in early September, Arsenal has not suffered a Premier League loss. Since they went 14 games without losing at the end of 2018, their division-leading 13-game winning streak is the longest.
