According to The Sun, Chelsea prefers to transfer winger Hakim Ziyech to AS Roma over a Premier League opponent.
In an effort to prevent selling the Moroccan to a Premier League opponent, the Blues are holding out for Roma to purchase the disfavored Ziyech.
Several top-flight clubs in Europe, including Roma, Tottenham, Newcastle, and Everton, have expressed interest in Ziyech after he had a successful 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
By the end of the January transfer window, he is anticipated to have finished his frustrating years at Stamford Bridge.
According to reports, the 29-year-old is keen to relocate to Italy for a new beginning.
However, in order to raise the £25 million needed to sign Ziyech, Roma is currently considering selling highly regarded starlet Nicolo Zaniolo.
According to rumors, Chelsea is content to wait until Roma has the necessary finances and is reluctant to sell the former Ajax star to another English Premier League team.
