As an earthquake strikes Turkey and Syria, former Chelsea winger Christian Atsu is reportedly “stuck under rubble.”
After leaving Saudi Arabia’s Al-Raed in 2022, Atsu is currently a player for the Turkish club team Hatayspor.
His club team is currently headquartered in Kahramanmara, one of the regions that were most severely affected by the terrible earthquake.
The tragic occurrence is reported to have claimed well over 1000 lives in both Turkey and Syria, and it is anticipated that the death toll will grow to 10,000 after two earthquakes strike both nations.
The first earthquake, which had a 7.8 magnitude, and the second, which had a 7.5 magnitude, both occurred early on Monday.
Along with Atsu, Taner Savut, the sporting director for Hatayspor, is reportedly trapped beneath the debris.
