Gianfranco Zola, a former player for Chelsea, has defended Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in response to comments made by AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho that the Nigerian international must quit diving.
Following AS Roma’s Serie A loss to Napoli, Mourinho recently issued Osimhen a warning that the former 24-year-old would need to avoid diving.
But, Zola has now reacted to Mourinho’s assertions.
He asserted that he noticed similarities between Drogba’s play and Osimhen’s, noting that the legendary Ivorian is too strong to dive.
Because Didier Drogba was too strong to dive, Zola said to Sky Sports. But I notice a lot of parallels.
Osimhen has been mentioned in connection with a summer transfer to the Premier League. Chelsea and Manchester United are rumored to be interested in signing the youngster.
