Toyin Abraham, a Nollywood actress, and director have responded to those who criticized her for endorsing Bola Tinubu as the APC’s presidential candidate.
Remember how the actress declared she would support Tinubu in a live interview on the well-known talk show Your View earlier in January? She did so because she admires what he has done for her business.
Since making her statement, the actress has received criticism, insults, and trolling on social media.
Speaking amid the criticism, the unfazed Toyin claimed individuals who cursed her over her favored candidate were wasting their time during a live Instagram session with actress Kemi Afolabi.
“I didn’t get paid a dollar, so if someone swears or curses for me, it won’t matter to me. Just those who accepted money may be impacted. Although I, Oluwatoyin, did not solicit donations or run a political campaign, we are having this conversation nevertheless because this is my country, I am a Nigerian, and I gave birth to my child here.
“Nobody can pay me. I sell my movies in cinemas, I sell them on platforms, I’m making my money, and I’m fine. The point is to choose your candidate, and don’t bully me.”
