Liverpool is nearing the end of an era, according to legendary Arsenal player Thierry Henry.
Henry was speaking on CBS Sport after Jurgen Klopp’s team lost 5-2 to Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 on Tuesday after blowing a two-goal lead.
The Reds took the lead thanks to goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, but the La Liga champions cruised to victory thanks to braces from Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema and a thunderous header from Eder Militao.
Henry claims that he has been worried for a while about Liverpool’s defense and that the group is now too vulnerable.
“Sure, Alisson erred, but they did not save him. A large team rescued Thibaut Courtois after he made a mistake.
“They are fragile and some things need to change. I don’t think Jurgen Klopp needs to go but some players don’t have the level anymore to play for Liverpool. It happens to the best, it happened to me. It’s the end of an era,” Henry said.
