After their UEFA Champions League elimination, Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur has cautioned his teammates that they have “no choice” but to concentrate on a new push for a top-four spot.
Kane was powerless to prevent Tottenham from drawing 0-0 with AC Milan in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 matchups on Wednesday.
Tottenham lost the first leg at San Siro and was eliminated from the Champions League with a score of 1-0 overall.
Kane told the team’s website, “We face Forest on Saturday and maybe we can score a couple of goals and make a huge push until the conclusion of the season.
“There isn’t a choice. As you are aware, this week has been difficult for everyone, but we only need to finish in the top four. The only thing for which we can play is that. We completed it last year. We made a significant push, but we still have a long way to go.
“We gave everything, leaving all of our heart and soul on the field,” he continued. If we’re being completely honest, we can’t say we deserved to win it over the two legs because the score was tied in both games and the outcome depended on a key goal.
“That’s where we are right now; we need to be more effective in the final third of the opponent. Although we are in favorable situations, we are not yet in complete control of that.
