The Super Eagles are determined to play their best game against the Guinea-Bissau Djurtus on Friday, according to Victor Osimhen.
At the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, on the third day of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the three-time African champions will entertain Baciro Cande’s team.
Considering the caliber of the players on both sides and their backgrounds, the Super Eagles enter the match as the clear favorites.
The Djurtus were defeated 3-0 by Jose Peseiro’s team the last time they faced each other in a group match at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
Osimhen emphasized that the Super Eagles will respect their opponent despite the difference in status between the two squads.
In the two-leg match against Guinea-Bissau, Osimhen said, “We are anticipating it and I’m happy to be back in the squad. It is an amazing feeling and really expecting amazing result.”
We want to treat our opponents with the respect they merit as a team, not as an underdog.
