Enzo Fernandez may represent the “future” of Chelsea, according to interim manager Frank Lampard.
Toddy Boehly, a co-owner of the Blues, paid £107 million to sign Fernandez away from Benfica in January.
Even if Fernandez has added a spark in a few games and may eventually reach his potential, the move has so far fallen short of expectations.
For a young kid to achieve what he has in this footballing year is unbelievable, Lampard told reporters on Tuesday.
“Coming to the club at this time is challenging, but the challenge will improve him. He is Chelsea’s foreseeable future.
