This summer, superstar Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain will participate in a game for Newell’s Old Boys, the club where he grew up.
Former Liverpool winger Maxi Rodriguez urged Messi and ex-Argentine teammate Sergio Aguero to participate in his testimonial game on June 24.
Following his third stint with Newell’s Old Boys in 2021, Rodriguez decided to end his football career.
But because of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was unable to schedule his farewell match at that time; it would instead take place in June.
Argentina XI and Newell XI will face off in the encounter.
Gabriel Heinze, Juan Pablo Sorin, Marcelo Bielsa, Javier Zanetti, Lionel Scaloni, and others are also on the list of athletes expected to attend.
