Abayomi Segun Oluwasesan, a notorious figure in Lagos, has been taken into custody by INTERPOL agents in Nigeria for allegedly hacking the blockchain of his business and stealing billions of Naira.
Abayomi was employed as a web developer by the international crypto exchange Afriq Arbitrage System on June 15, 2022, according to INTERPOL. However, he hacked the platform when his boss, Jesam Micheal, was receiving a liver transplant and gave him the platform’s codes.
Abayomi hired his friends to disrupt the platform’s smooth operation and steal millions of dollars from investors who had worked hard for their money. Abayomi had been given access to sensitive data necessary for the organization’s efficient operation.
Estimates state that he removed at least $87 million and lavishly spent it.
He founded Fidoray Autos and brought in more than 30 different kinds of amazing vehicles. In addition, he bought a house and got a residency permit in Tanzania, Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
He invested N450 million in one of his plazas in Lagos, N1 billion in landed homes close to Dangote refineries, and N1 billion on the interior design of his hotel in Mainland, Lagos State.
He was traveling in first class on a trip funded by investors.
On May 15, 2023, his dishonesty nearly brought down the prosperous platform.
