With comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo being made, Manchester United is allegedly “open to any offer” for Jadon Sancho in the January transfer window.
Similar to how he did with five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo in 2022, before the Portuguese superstar’s contract was terminated and he left Old Trafford with Al-Nassr as a free agent, Erik ten Hag has frozen out another experienced international talent at Old Trafford.
Sancho, an English winger, has not played for United since August 26. On September 3, when Sancho was left off the matchday squad, speculation over his future initially surfaced. At that point, his performance at practice was questioned, and he was forced to work separately from the rest of the first squad.
Crisis negotiations have been held, but Sancho is now anticipated to move within the winter timeframe. At this stage, United is aware that the transfer won’t be permanent; instead, it may be a loan with a buy option according to Fabrizio Romano on his podcast. Therefore, I anticipate that they will be receptive to any possibility in January. Naturally, they would prefer a permanent move; that way, they could get their money back after paying for Jadon Sancho’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
However, they are aware that it will be difficult to find a top-tier club in Europe willing to pay, in my opinion—this is not the official price—somewhere between £50m and £55m in January. Therefore, we must wait and watch what occurs there.
Jadon Sancho and Manchester United appear to have won by 90%. We reserve 10% because we understand that anything can happen in football, but as of right now, it brings to mind Cristiano Ronaldo’s predicament from a year ago. The consensus is that Jadon has to transfer to a new team in January.
Sancho has been connected with a return to Borussia Dortmund, as well as Barcelona and Juventus. It is also rumored that Turkish clubs have suddenly entered the battle for the 23-year-old striker.
