The controversial memoir “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” written by actress and former girlfriend of Nigerian artist Iyanya, has caused controversy. Nelson claims that he did not realize he was in the book when he gave his endorsement.
The Ghanaian diva reportedly discussed her adventures with Iyanya and how she eventually discovered he was having an affair with Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh in a chapter headed “Iyanya And My Love Life.’’
During a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, Iyanya stated that he gave the book his endorsement without being aware of its contents.
The musician claimed that he is still not ready to address the claims of adultery made by his ex-girlfriend, despite having vowed to do so when the book was released last year.
He mentioned that they still get along well and keep in touch.
“I endorsed Yvonne Nelson’s book without realizing I was in it,” he declared. I had no idea that I was in the book, but we were cool and we still chat. Everything was buzzing when the book was out. I was hearing from people that I was in the book. However, I haven’t read it yet.
“I’m not prepared to answer, even though I know I promised to address the accusations she made in her book. Such kind of content won’t get a response from me; that’s just who I am.
