Kanayo O. Kanayo, a seasoned Nollywood actor, has declared that he plans to act until he is ninety.
The actor spoke this in the trailer for the next episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, which Nedu, Husband Material, and Deit Cole co-host.
The 62-year-old bemoaned the threat to the film business posed by the desperate desire to act displayed by untalented people, particularly women.
Many girls are itching to become involved. You don’t travel to Nollywood to take acting classes. The ability to act comes naturally. Go sell crawfish if you don’t have it inside you.
“Let’s drive some individuals out of the film industry.” I want to be able to continue acting when I’m 70, 75, 80, or 90 years old.”
The seasoned actor also said that Nollywood has become a homophobic and drug-addled culture.
In 1982, Kanayo made her stage debut in Nigerian Television Authority productions. In 1992, he made his feature film debut in the picture Living in Bondage.
He’s acted in more than two hundred films.
