A district court in Kade has ordered the New Patriotic Party Constituency Chairman to provide polling station nomination forms to an applicant who filed a suit over the matter ahead of the polling station executive elections.
The suit was filed by one Prince Sheriff Duah.
The polling station elections have been scheduled for the 24th to 25th of March 2020.
There has been malcontent in multiple constituencies over claims some party executives are hoarding nomination forms.
The tensions started in Manhyia North, where an executive had to seek refuge in a police station after being hounded by some supporters.
The NPP has said it will investigate the incident after it took the intervention of armed police officers to maintain order and whisk away the Manhyia North MP, Akwasi Konadu from the party’s office.
In the Volta Region, some Ho Central Constituency executives, aspirants and NPP polling station executives in the Ho Central Constituency of the Volta Region are also threatening to disrupt the NPP’s constituency elections because of the tensions.
These tensions have prompted the National Executive Committee of the NPP to meet on the matter.
The National Chairman of the party, Freddie Blay will address a press conference after the meeting.
