New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary aspirant, Justin Frimpong Kodua has urged members of the NPP to remain united ahead of the party’s upcoming internal elections.
“As the processes for the upcoming internal elections has just begun, starting from the various polling stations, we should all be mindful of the fact that this is a contest among members of the same family and therefore we should approach this year’s internal elections with a sense of love and friendship befitting the party whose founding fathers pioneered democracy in Ghana and the whole of Africa.
“We must therefore go about the internal elections devoid of malice, rancour, name-calling, derogatory and vituperative comments, personal attacks, unjustifiable allegations and all such unseemly conduct which has the tendency to divide us and threaten the unity and cohesion in the party,” Mr. Kodua said in a statement.
He believes the party’s internal elections are crucial to breaking the eight-year cycle that has characterized Ghana’s political landscape over the years.
He thus emphasized the need for the election to be conducted in a civil manner.
“As we approach the internal elections at the Polling Station, Electoral Area, Constituency, Regional and National levels, I urge all to consider the exercise as very crucial to our firm collective resolve to break the 8-year political jinx that has characterized the nation’s political landscape for some time now.
“Besides, the elections should be seen as the opportune time to reminiscence the rich history of our party which is worthy of preservation and not merely as a decision time. It is my expectation and hope therefore that this would be conducted in a smooth and civil manner.”

GOOD LUCK TO ALL ASPIRANTS
I salute you, Fellow Patriots!
It is my greatest pleasure and privilege to extend my warm wishes and sincere commendation to all and sundry, particularly our hardworking and dedicated Party executives, party members and sympathizers across the country, for your selfless services and unwavering commitment to the cause of our great party, the New Patriotic Party.
I sincerely appreciate and cherish your unflinching loyalty and support all these years.
As we approach the internal elections at the Polling Station, Electoral Area, Constituency, Regional and National levels, I urge all to consider the exercise as very crucial to our firm collective resolve to break the 8-year political jinx that has characterized the nation’s political landscape for some time now.
Besides, the elections should be seen as the opportune time to reminiscence the rich history of our party which is worth of preservation and not merely as a decision time. It is my expectation and hope therefore that this would be conducted in a smooth and civil manner.
Inarguably, it is our responsibility to preserve the democratic credentials of our party at all times. And this is yet another moment to showcase our commitment to this important cause.
As the processes for the upcoming internal elections has just begun, starting from the various polling stations, we should all be mindful of the fact that this is a contest among members of the same family and therefore we should approach this year’s internal elections with a sense of love and friendship befitting the party whose founding fathers pioneered democracy in Ghana and the whole of Africa.
We must therefore go about the internal elections devoid of malice, rancour, name-calling, derogatory and vituperative comments, personal attacks, unjustifiable allegations and all such unseemly conduct which has the tendency to divide us and threaten the unity and cohesion in the party.
Let us be conscious of the fact that this is intra-party contest and when it is all over, we will need each and everyone on board to deliver victory for our dear party in the 2024 general elections.
At any cost, we should protect, during this decisive moment, the basic principles of our party diligently.
Once again, I extend my kind regards to all aspirants and wish them well in the upcoming elections.
May God bless our homeland Ghana, and the New Patriotic Party, and make us great and strong.
Thank you!
