Miss Cell 2022 is Chidinma Ojukwu, the alleged murder suspect of Michael Usifo Ataga, the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV.
She won a beauty pageant at the Kirikiri female prison to commemorate International Women’s Day, with the theme “BreakingTheBias” this year.
Ojukwu, a 300-level Mass Communication student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), is on trial for Ataga’s murder alongside her sister, Chioma Egbuchu, and one Adedapo Quadri, competed with other inmates to win the coveted title of Miss Cell 2022.
Ojukwu’s trial was halted on the last adjourned date, February 21, due to the absence of the prosecution witness.
Ojukwu is on trial in the Lagos High Court at Tafa Balewa Square TBS.
The defendant is accused of murder, stealing, and forgery, along with her sister, Chioma Egbuchu, and one Adedapo Quadri.
When the case was called on the most recent adjourned date, the prosecution counsel, Mrs. A. O. Oluwafemi, also the Deputy Director of the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions, informed the court that their witness was not present.
She requested that the earlier dates set for the case’s hearing be vacated in order for the prosecution to obtain the Toxicology and DNA results required for the trial.
