Didi Ekanem, an actress, has advised women to work for their money rather than rely on men.
“It is important for a woman to work for her money,” she said in an interview with Sunday Scoop. There is no reason for any woman to rely on a man for financial support. I don’t know how to ask for favors, and I don’t like asking men for money. I’m glad my money keeps me going. It has assisted me in living within my means.”
“It all boils down to the need to work hard and make one’s money,” Ekanem said of her recovery from the shock of her house being burned down late last year. Some people were perplexed as to why I cried and posted pictures (of the burned-out house) on Instagram. They said I was looking for clout. However, one week later, I moved into a new apartment, and some people began to talk again. ‘My house burned down, not my account balance,’ I told myself. Because I had savings, it was simple for me to get out of it.”
The actress also stated that she posts humorous content on social media so that people can see a different side of her. “I love to make videos because I am a very funny person ‘when I am inside of me,” she explained. I just felt like my fans needed to see my lighter side. I can be very serious about my work, but I also have a very funny side.”
“I have just opened a store, and I am working on my new collection,” Ekanem said of her other interests aside from acting. I’ve also started a food company. These are things I’ve always been interested in. I enjoy cooking and feeding others. We live in the age of social media, where people can easily monetize their interests. Becoming a fashion designer was not something I had ever considered. I needed to earn some extra cash for myself. Anything you see me do is because I am passionate about it. I pursued a career in fashion design because it is something I enjoy doing. It wasn’t easy because I had to go to school to learn the fundamentals and gain a better understanding of what I was doing.
