Uduak Isong, a filmmaker, has stated that her new film, Beautiful People, explores relationships across generations.
According to her, the story is about three generations of women: a teenager on a journey of self-discovery, a middle-aged woman afraid to commit again after a broken relationship, and a woman in her fifties looking for a new beginning.
“It’s a timely and relevant story about one’s desire and right to pursue happiness in the face of adversity,” she added.
Isong, who recently received a Master’s degree in Film from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom, said in a statement to Sunday Scoop, “I made this film primarily to entertain but also to provoke and initiate conversations about gender roles, particularly in family settings.”
Kanayo Kanayo, Clarion Chukwurah, Chioma Chukwukah, Deyemi Okanlanwon, and Yvonne Jegede will star in the film, which will premiere in London, UK.
Immediately following the film screening, guests will be invited to a cocktail party where Isong will moderate a question-and-answer session.
