Okon thanked the governor in his resignation letter for the honor and privilege of serving the state.
He stated that his decision to resign from the state cabinet was motivated by the need to focus on his governorship bid in 2023.
“It is my deep conviction that this is the best time for me to take my leave and focus on my aspiration for the governorship election in 2023,” he said.
In a similar vein, Ibuot stated, “It has been a tremendous honor to have been appointed first as Secretary, Technical Committee on Agriculture and Food Sufficiency; later as Special Adviser, Political/ Legislative Affairs and Water Resources; and finally Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State Executive Council of your administration.”
During this time, I have strived and actively served to the best of my ability and potential, leaving a mark on the sands of time.”
