President Akufo-Addo says the government is doing everything possible to address the country’s economic challenges.
Nana Akufo-Addo stated that the decisions made at the weekend Cabinet retreat will help to revitalize the economy.
“Many of the phenomena that we are facing are visible in other parts of the world,” he said during a meeting with members of the Council of State. However, this does not imply that we are powerless. We’re doing everything we can to help the economy recover.”
Prior to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the Ghanaian economy was on the rise, with positive indicators earning positive ratings from global economic watchers.
The already precarious situation in Ukraine has been exacerbated by Russia’s invasion.
James Klutse Avedzi, a former Deputy Minority Leader and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, believes the government has no excuse.
He believes Ghana’s economic problems are the result of mismanagement rather than the global crisis.
A variety of factors, including the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, have largely contributed to global economic meltdown, and Dr. Bawumia is expected to discuss how these factors have impacted the Ghanaian economy, as well as measures the government has taken to address the situation.
