Paris Saint-Germain are in crisis after being eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid and losing 3-0 to Monaco in Ligue 1, with Neymar being one of the players receiving criticism.
Journalist Daniel Riolo accused the Brazilian forward of barely training with the rest of his teammates, arriving almost drunk at sessions.
“Neymar hardly trains anymore; he arrives in a shambles, almost drunk,” Riolo told RMC Sport.
That’s how it is; Neymar is out for vengeance against PSG.”
PSG fans’ thoughts on Neymar
PSG fans booed the players after their defeat to Real Madrid, and Riolo revealed that they believe the Brazil international should leave the club.
“PSG fans don’t care about Neymar’s antics or his Netflix documentary,” he continued.
“We have to sign his check and release him.” He’s wreaking havoc on the club. Allow him to leave because he is ruining PSG.”
PSG has not responded.
Riolo also claimed that the club’s reaction to the Champions League elimination has been minimal.
“PSG is no longer a club,” he observed.
“There is no connecting thread. The coach is no longer in existence, and the president has said nothing.
“The bolts should have been tightened after such a disaster.” But there was nothing. Neither [sporting director] Leonardo nor [president] Nasser Al-Khelaifi have responded. Nothing. A resounding defeat.”
Shortly after being whistled at during PSG’s game against Bordeaux, Neymar posted a few videos on his official Instagram account showing him playing with his son.
The Brazilian isn’t the only superstar to face criticism in recent weeks, but his is the most high-profile because he arrived at PSG in 2017 expecting to usher in a new era and win the Champions League, which has yet to happen.
