Toyin Abraham and Mercy Aigbe, both actresses, took to Instagram to ask for help for Afolabi, announcing the creation of a Gofundme account to fund her treatment.
According to the PUNCH, Afolabi revealed in an interview with Chude Jideonwo that she had been diagnosed with the autoimmune disease lupus.
She also revealed in the interview that she had only five years to live due to the illness.
Afolabi revealed that she spent N1.2 million per week on medications to manage the illness, and that she had sold her cars, property, and business to pay for it.
She went on to say that she had received encouragement from colleagues such as Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, and Mercy Aigbe.
Abraham encouraged her fans to donate to Afolabi by posting a video of the interview.
Please forgive me if you noticed I stopped doing this a long time ago, but I need to do it for a friend, sister, and colleague. Please help us by going to the GoFundMe link in my bio or using the Nigeria account listed below.
