Nancy Isime, a Nollywood actress and TV host, has denied rumors of a romance with a married UK-based businessman.
Gistlover, an online blogger, claimed that the actress was romantically involved with Michael Dion-Goli, CEO of UK Dion Group.
The blog also accused Isime of being a prostitute and of ruining the man’s marriage.
In response to the allegation, Isime stated in the blog’s comment section that Dion-Goli was the owner of the company, UK Dion, which sponsored her The Nancy Isime Show Season Three.
The multi-award-winning actress also took to Instagram stories to say that women who aim high, particularly in the Nigerian entertainment industry, will “automatically” earn names like “Ashawo, olosho (prostitute).”
“If you are a successful Nigerian woman, please include these names in your plans so it does not surprise you when it happens ‘Ashawo, Olosho.'” It’s an automatic naming ceremony if you want to be a Virgin, especially if you want to be an actress.
I knew the breaking news was coming because there has been too much positive news about me online, which not everyone likes; once your name drives traffic, the propaganda begins, with or without evidence. But, listen, I’m not going to be bullied by patriarchy,” she wrote on Tuesday.
The actress went on to challenge the blogger to provide “concrete proof” of the alleged affair.
“As I previously stated, since we cannot sue a faceless account, we at the very least deserve concrete proof of the allegations made.” “Let’s dig it up and see if you can’t just call me names and bully me into silence,” she wrote.
