During a recent interview with Mathias Döpfner, the CEO of Insider’s parent company, Axel Springer, Elon Musk, the world’s wealthiest person, admitted to feeling lonely at times.
“There are times when I feel lonely,” Musk admitted to Döpfner at Tesla’s Fremont, California, headquarters. “I’m sure everyone feels lonely at times. However, it is quite simple.”
“Say I’m working on the starship rocket and I’m just staying in my little house by myself, especially if my dog isn’t with me,” he continued, “then I feel quite lonely because I’m just in a little house by myself with no dog.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is said to live in a Casita, a $50,000 375-square-foot tiny home rented from Space X in Boca Chica, Texas.
My only home in the Bay Area is the events house “Musk made a tweet last year. “If I sold it, the house would be less used unless it was purchased by a large family, which could happen someday.”
In addition, Musk and Grimes, a singer, divorced after three years of dating. According to Insider, Grimes stated in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that Musk “lives at times below the poverty line,” and that she feels “trapped between two worlds.”
“To the point where I thought, “Can’t we live in a $40,000 house that’s very insecure?” Where the neighbors film us, there’s no security, and I’ve been eating peanut butter for eight days in a row? “said the musician.
During the interview, Döpfner asked Musk about his greatest hope, to which he replied, “I hope that humanity can build a self-sustaining city on Mars.”
