Carolyna Hutchings, an actress, claims that Lagos women have redefined what it means to be a housewife. Hutchings, who was previously married to billionaire Musa Danjuma, is a cast member on the reality show ‘Real Housewives of Lagos.’
“A real housewife in modern terminology is a boss lady— a woman who is the neck of the home, supportive of her husband and his business, a virtuous woman who cares for her children and domestic staff, and runs a successful business,” she said on the show. She manages to do all of this with ease. She understands her worth and is focused on achieving positive goals and leaving a legacy.
She is constantly redefining the term “housewife,” challenging the stereotype that a woman’s place is only in the kitchen or the bedroom. “Los Angeles women have redefined the term “housewife” like the queens that they are.”
Hutchings explained what drew her to the show, saying, “What drew me to this franchise was its name.” It’s an international show that I’ve previously seen. I was ecstatic when I was cast as one of the housewives, even though I was skeptical because the other housewives were not revealed to me. I was looking forward to meeting women from various industries and cultures, women from whom I could learn about business and etiquette.
Overall, I was excited to embark on a new adventure and begin a new chapter in my life.”
When asked what the most difficult aspect of being in front of cameras was, she replied, “There is nothing difficult about it, really.” Being in front of the camera is a natural part of my personality. Though the show has felt invasive at times since its inception, I am gradually returning to my first love, which is entertaining my audience. “I am completely confident that the show will be entertaining, motivating, and educational.”
