Otto Addo, head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, says his team will aim for victory when they travel to Abuja to face Nigeria in the second leg of the FIFA World Cup qualifier playoff.
The Black Stars were held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday in the first match of a two-legged tie in which the two teams are vying for a spot in the World Cup.
The 0-0 draw means that everything is on the line in the rematch on Tuesday, March 29 at Moshood Abiola Stadium.
Ahead of the game, Addo says the Black Stars will aim to win while dismissing claims that the Super Eagles are the favorites.
“The outcome makes no difference. We want to win when we go there.”
“Despite the fact that our Africa Cup of Nations performance was poor this year, you saw how we matched Nigeria in the first leg,” the coach said.
“As a result, I don’t see them as favorites; the pressure will be on them at home, and away goals can be devastating.”
After missing out on the last World Cup in Russia, the Black Stars are hoping to make a comeback.
