Only the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Goodwin Emefiele, according to the Unified Northern Nigeria Youth Forum, is capable of winning the presidency for the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 general election.
Mohammed Salisu Danlami, the group’s convener, claimed this during a news conference in Lokoja.
Danlami stated that the panel had evaluated all of the candidates for the position and concluded that, based on Emefiele’s antecedents in the private sector as well as his remarkable performance at the Apex bank, he was clearly the best of them all.
“His performance in launching the anchor borrowers program, major agricultural investments that resulted in the recently commissioned rice pyramid in Abuja, and saving millions of dollars all attest to his competency to handle the country’s affairs,” Danlami said.
He urged the ruling APC to embrace Godwin Emefiele by acclamation if the party was serious about pulling the country out of its economic doldrums.
The convener stated that the party must make every effort to maintain Nigeria’s unity, which he described as “non-negotiable.”
Nigeria, he claims, is one now as a result of brotherhood founded on the notion of power rotation. Anyone from the North showing interest after eight years, when power is supposed to pass to the South, is disgusting and unpatriotic; it’s an attempt to divide Nigerians.
He urged all right-thinking Nigerians to vote for Southerners to be the next president in order to preserve Nigeria’s unity and uphold the agreed-upon principle of rotating power from one block to the next.
We need to think about someone who is detribalized and not a typical politician when looking for the next president.”
“No one has performed like the CBN governor among all appointments of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.government,” )’s he continued.
According to him, if Emefiele ignores our nationwide plea, there will be voter apathy because we think that no one else among those vying for the position has the experience and resources to get us out of the woods.
“Emefiele is the only individual who qualifies for the job. He is quite capable and sticks out among the other candidates,” he stated.
