Kayode Fayemi, the governor of Ekiti State and the head of the Nigeria Governors Forum, has denied being a presidential candidate as reported by various media outlets.
Governor Fayemi made the remarks during a meeting with Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at his office in Akure.
He stated that he is still consulting and will announce his position after traveling across the country.
He also stated that Nigeria requires an experienced leader capable of expanding on President Muhammadu Buhari’s developmental structure in the upcoming election.
Fayemi stated that he is now consulting monarchs and other governors before announcing his intention to run for the country’s top post.
The Ekiti governor stated that he is still a bridge builder with the ability to develop Nigeria.
