According to reports in France and Italy earlier this week, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was interested in taking over at the Ligue 1 club from Mauricio Pochettino; Conte: “The fact is that I don’t enjoy when people attempt to invent news only to speak or make difficulties.”
Antonio Conte, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has dismissed reports associating him with the Paris Saint-Germain position as “false news.”
Earlier this week, reports in France and Italy suggested Conte was interested in succeeding Mauricio Pochettino as manager of the Ligue 1 team.
Conte, who has a year left on his contract, has consistently declined to commit his long-term future to Spurs, but claims the new rumours are false.
“Obviously, I believe it’s nice that other clubs admire my work,” he remarked.
But the truth is that I dislike it when people try to invest news by merely speaking and causing difficulties.
“This isn’t right, and it isn’t fair to me, the clubs involved, or my players.”
