In Nigeria, Universe Attorneys’ Managing Partner, Akande Paul, has issued a warning against sleeping with an animal. Concerns over a viral video of a canine having an affair with a woman prompted the warning.
The footage was believed to have been shot in Nigeria, but media outlets were unable to verify its veracity. The Criminal Code Act and the Penal Code Act, according to Akande, make sleeping with an animal illegal. In Nigeria, sleeping with an animal is punishable by 14 years in prison, he explained. “Having sex with lower animals like dogs, horses, cats, cows, etc. is a criminal offence in Nigeria,” he claimed. “Oral s*x (‘getting head’) from an animal is a sexual act that constitutes sexual offence.”
It is illegal in Nigeria to engage in bestiality.
On conviction under Section 214 of the Criminal Code Act and Section 284 of the Penal Code Act, the penalty is 14 years in jail.” “Any person who- (1) has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature; or (2) permits a male person to have carnal knowledge of him or her against the order of nature; or (3) permits a male person to have carnal knowledge of him or her against the order of nature; is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years,” according to Section 214 of the Criminal Code Act.
“Whoever engages in sexual intercourse against nature’s order with any man, woman, or animal shall be punished by imprisonment for a term of up to fourteen years and a fine.”
