Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, a leading southeasterner, has dismissed the call for a southeast president. Uwazuruike, the leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, claims that agitation is a waste of time. As a result, he urged Nigerians and political leaders to reject zoning, claiming that it had no place in the country’s constitution.
Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has stated categorically that he does not believe in an Igbo presidency in 2023, which will come as a shock to many Nigerians. He said this after leading a solidarity march in Owerri, Imo, in support of Gov.
Kogi’s Yahaya Bello.
According to Vanguard Newspaper, Uwazuruike, who also stated that he does not believe in the president of Igbo descent, believes the contest should be thrown up.
The youngsters marched through the streets of Owerri, carrying signs that said “Power to the Youths, Support Yahaya Bello,” “Youths Can Also Lead,” and “Yahaya Bello for the Youths,” among other things.
They made it obvious that giving power to the youths was the only way out of Nigeria’s political mess. In this regard, they believe Bello is the best candidate for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
