In speeches on Tuesday focused on inflation, President Joe Biden will highlight a comparison between his economic ideas and those of Republicans, according to a White House official.
In recent weeks, Biden, a Democrat with dismal approval ratings ahead of the November midterm elections, has intensified his language against Republicans, characterizing former President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” MAGA movement as radical.
“Contrast his approach with Congressional Republicans’ ultra-MAGA plan to raise taxes on 75 million American families and threaten to sunset programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid,” the person said.
Last week, Biden attacked Republican Senator Rick Scott’s economic proposal, claiming that it would raise taxes on 75 million Americans, the majority of whom earn less than $100,000 per year. Scott is leading Republican efforts to elect Republicans to the Senate, where he promised to lower taxes.
