On Tuesday, Nigeria’s power generation fell by 0.9 percent to 86.77 kMWh, down from 87.58 kMWh the day before. This is the third day in a row that energy generation has decreased.
According to the Nigerian Transmission Company, this is the case (TCN).
In the same line, power supply fell by 0.9 percent to 85.44 kMWh on Tuesday, compared to 86.24 kMWh on Monday, May 9, 2022. Nigeria’s energy generation has dropped even lower than the 105 kMWh required to maintain some level of power supply stability.
Meanwhile, Nigerians are still dealing with epileptic power supplies, with numerous grid outages so far in 2022, resulting in extensive blackouts across the country.

The day’s maximum frequency was 50.53Hz, with the lowest frequency being 49.12Hz. In addition, DisCos received 98.48% of the energy generated on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Mr. Abubakar Aliyu, said that the ministry is working towards a reliable power grid to ensure efficient electricity supply in the country during an interactive session with the Senate Committee on Power and critical stakeholders on “Frequent National Grid Collapse.”
The cost of electricity has increased across the country, which is aggravated by frequent power outages.
