Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Senate Minority Leader, has finally joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party on Friday morning.
Abaribe told reporters on Friday that he had joined the party in Umuahia.
The lawmaker also announced that he will not compete for governor of Abia State, instead opting to run for re-election to the Senate under the APGA banner in 2023.
On Friday morning, Abaribe submitted a letter to the PDP ward chairman in the Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, announcing his resignation from the party, as well as a letter to the President of the Senate, announcing his resignation as Senate Minority Leader.
