Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senate’s Chief Whip, has stated that he is not the Director General of the Lawan Campaign Organisation, which is in charge of Senate President Ahmad Lawan’s presidential bid.
The senator from Abia North was responding to media reports that he was the organization’s Director General.
“The list should be discarded,” Kalu stated in a press release to journalists. “No approval was given to the effect of its publishing.”
“It is critical to inform the general public that we are not yet in the campaign proper,” he stated.
Once our most desired candidate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, is elected as the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, a committee would be formed to that end.” “I am also standing for election in my senatorial constituency,” Kalu continued, “and would prefer recommend a sitting governor who is not running for election to chair the campaign team at the appropriate time.”
Several private visitors, including Sen. Betty Apiafi and Sen. Uche Ekwunife, who visited on a different nonpartisan topic touching the senate, were also believed to have been in attendance, according to him.
“It is nefarious to have incorporated these identities as part of Ahmad Lawan Campaign Organization,” he warned.
