In a new film titled “Symphony,” which will have its world premiere in theaters on September 9, 2022, well-known musician Oladapo Oyebanjo, aka D’banj, and actress Jackie Appiah will be narrating a narrative of life, love, dreams, success, hardships, societal failure, and the subsequent ramifications.
The film, which features music and youth as its central topics, depicts the struggles of an averagely skilled African youth as they fight against all odds to achieve a breakthrough.
D’banj makes his acting debut in the movie, which was filmed in Lagos and is co-produced by EverRise Entertainment and Sulcata Entertainment. Other notable actors include Lanre Hassan, also known as Iya Awero; Bolaji Amusan (Mr. Latin); Kalu Ikeagwu; Efa Iwara; Scarlet Gomez; Daniel Abua; and Doris Okorie.
Victor Adeshiyan and Kenyan vocalist Tanasha Donna are also included. At the premiere, a music album including the project’s original soundtracks and performances will also be released.
Oraka Nnanyelu, the film’s director, called it “a brilliantly created, precious work of art that depicts the everyday lives of the African youth’s road to relevance.”
