T-Pain has sparked a significant online uproar by disparaging the legendary status of legendary rapper 2Pac by claiming that if the latter were alive today—a time dominated by social media and the new generation of rappers—he would have been “ate the fuck up lyrically.”
He made this contentious claim during a conversation on DJ Akademiks’ Twitch channel. Pac would have been murdered sooner and would have been lyrically assaulted if social media had existed at the time. T-Pain screamed.
Lyrically, Pac would have been ludicrously slaughtered. He continued, “Bro, ‘Pac was a crazy lyricist in our time because nobody else had a platform. Pac would have eaten the fuck up if the platforms had been what they are now. I’m just saying that compared to what we hear today, what we consider to be ‘Pac’s greatest lyrics are mere trifles. Akademiks, who was startled by Pain’s unexpected posture, briefly pushed him back, at which point he acknowledged that Pac is a poet and one of the greatest of all time, but he also reiterated that things would have been different if social media had been at the time.
He declared, “‘Pac is a whole fucking poet.” Pac was, if not the, one of the best lyricists of his era, but if social media had existed back then and everyone could have voiced their opinion, there would have been lot more nasty n****s. They would have been itching to show Pac even more disrespect.
He added that Pac’s career would have continued if he had survived the terrible shooting in 1996: “If ‘Pac was alive right now, they would’ve disregarded everything he said just because he was elderly. I’m done now. He would have been saying the same thing as the young n****s, but because he is older, it would have been given less credit.
