Christians have been advised to increase the percentage of their tithes and to cease focusing on the Biblically mandated 10% by a pastor in Nigeria.
The preacher who goes by the moniker Gospel Agochukwu claims that because prices for products and services have increased, the meager 10% tithe isn’t, as it were, enough for God.
He claimed that in order to increase their “Kingdom investments,” Christians must develop new methods.
In a series of posts, he wrote, “Economy is horrible, everything has increased. Stop giving God 10% of everything. I’ll offer you 70%; please make your own selections. However, merely boost your kingdom investments because they are already high.
Joseph Matthew, a Ghanaian gospel musician working in the UK, recently spoke against the false teachings of contemporary pastors that paying tithes confers any special gift.
The artist stressed that Christians are required to pay their tithes to God, but not on a monthly basis as prescribed by the ministers of God of the latter days in his contentious speech, which was broadcast on Hitz FM.
He maintained that God never instructed Christians to provide tithes on a regular basis but rather that in order to get his benefits, individuals must be able to do good deeds for their neighbors and friends, not by giving tithes.
He continued by saying that Abraham was the first to practice tithing. Abraham was required to offer God a sacrifice of 10% of his income, although God never gave him the command to do so.
According to Matthew, receiving God’s blessing does not depend on giving tithes but rather on doing good to one’s neighbors. For further details, view the video below;
