Crystal Smith, wife of American musician and songwriter, Ne-Yo, on Sunday stated that she had officially broken up with the R&B superstar.
In a message on her Instagram page, the mother-of-three revealed that for eight years of their marriage, she had shared her husband with several women “who sell their bodies to him unprotected.”
She vowed to stop deceiving the public and pretending that their marriage was successful.
“Eight years; Eight years of lies and dishonesty,” Crystal wrote. I’ve been unintentionally sharing my spouse and I for eight years with countless ladies who sell their bodies to him bare, unprotected. It would be an understatement to say that I’m disgusted and heartbroken.
It is completely ridiculous to want me to stay and accept it; this is narcissistic thinking.
“I won’t pretend that this is something that it isn’t or lie to the public any longer.”
She stated that while though the marriage brought her three children, it also brought her “wasted years and misery.”
“I pick me,” she said, “I choose my respect, my health, and my happiness. Out of this, I had three lovely children, but nothing else but lost time and misery.
Because what he does is no longer of relevance to me, I kindly ask that you all cease giving me recordings or any information about him cheating. I’m not the victim here. I’ve made the decision to hold my head up and stand tall.
“It’s up to you to love yourself if someone can’t love you the way you deserve. I have no ill will toward him and only hope for the best for him.
The singer’s wife suggested that she had dropped her husband’s last name by signing the statement with her maiden name, Crystal Renay.
The singer, who was born Shaffer Smith, had recommitted to Crystal in April 2022.
