Actress Elvina Ibru claims that her late millionaire businessman father was worried about her career choice.
Ibru responded “Yes” when questioned by Sunday Scoop if she has ever been thought to be careless due to her work as an actor. However, it came from some of my family members, particularly my father, rather than from strangers. He believed I was taking too much danger relying on acting as a career, although I wouldn’t use the word “irresponsible.”
Ibru added that she thought Nollywood was making progress despite many obstacles. “Considering all the difficulties we have faced over the years, I will say we are doing quite well,” she stated. However, we are making great strides.
Both Bollywood (India) and Hollywood (the United States of America) have histories that span more than a century. After only a little over 40 years, I don’t believe the world should be expecting us to be as great as they are. However, I would prefer to hear more personal narratives.
She remarked, “It is tough to make one’s money back when one releases a movie in this nation. I am not happy about how difficult it is for filmmakers to make their money back when a movie is launched in this country. In addition, compared to what certain international streaming services pay professionals in America and Europe, the money given to Nigerian filmmakers is “chicken change.”
