The federal government and the Christian Association of Nigeria have been alerted by the negotiator for the kidnapped Kaduna train passengers, Tukur Mamu, of the terrorists’ plot to wed Azurfa Lois John, a victim who is 21 years old.
The Kaduna State University 300-level student and her cousin Peace Aboi, 28, were among the victims of a terrorist attack aboard the Kaduna-bound AK9 train on March 28, 2022, according to LIB. Later, Peace and the other ten captives were freed.
On Friday, August 19, Mamu, a media consultant for notorious Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, said this while briefing reporters on the four passengers who had been liberated by terrorists after being held captive for more than four months.
Mamu claims that one of the terrorists’ senior commanders is in love with Ms. John and desires to wed her.
However, he begged the Federal Government and other stakeholders to step up efforts to secure the release of the 23 victims who are still in the terrorists’ custody. He claimed that their health conditions were appalling and required immediate medical attention.
He says that the CAN must not politicize or treat the information lightly and urges the pertinent authorities to speak with the people responsible for her (Lois) abduction as soon as possible before it’s too late.
“I can confirm through reliable information at my disposal that if immediate action is not taken to secure the release of Azurfa Lois John, the youngest victim of the train attack, who is 21 years old, the abductors, as they have done in the case of Leah Sharibu, are planning to marry her at any moment. This is to alert the federal government and especially the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). According to Mamu, one of the senior commanders is in love with her.
“This crucial information needs to be handled with the urgency it requires. I am aware that disclosing this information will distress not only her close relatives and friends but also all Nigerians, but I feel it is vital to do so to prevent a recurrence of Leah Sharibu’s situation.
“I advise CAN specifically not to politicize this issue or reduce it to mere press releases as I have seen in the past but to work closely with relevant authorities to engage the abductors on case as soon as possible before it is late. “I pray that in view of the uncertainties which are becoming alarming, the federal government will also act very quickly to ensure the release of all the remaining victims, “Added he.
