The leaked video showing Finland’s 36-year-old prime minister dancing wildly at a party with some friends shows her simply having a good time. The opposition leader, who asked that she submit to a drug test, and the right-wingers, who have been whipping themselves into a frenzy at the cheek of a woman who believes she can run a country and have some fun, must be really disappointed by this.
The sexist double standards present in this “scandal” are obvious without strain. How many kids does Boris Johnson have from different women? That’s simply Boris being Boris, I suppose.

I shouldn’t be so glib; I can see why some folks are so upset that Marin is having fun. If I’m being completely honest, I thought the prime minister’s actions were absurd. The woman is a geriatric millennial, like me, after all. And yet, she manages to balance her roles as prime minister and mother while maintaining an unfathomably stunning appearance and having the energy to dance with her friends. Come on, you’re just being arrogant! Even if my job doesn’t require negotiating with NATO, some mornings I can hardly get the strength to brush my hair.
If it did, we would all be in serious trouble. To be out dancing after 10 o’clock these days, I would need to be amphetamine-pumped to the gills.
