Mathias Pogba, Paul Pogba’s brother, vowed to reveal information about the Juventus midfielder and said he asked a witch doctor to curse Kylian Mbappe.
Following his brother’s claims against him, Paul Pogba issued an update on his mental health and said “huge thank you” to his supporters.
Late in August, Mathias Pogba made a peculiar and unsettling social media video in which he pledged to reveal “explosive” facts about his sibling. The 32-year-old forward, a former player for Wrexham, Crew, and Crawley, claimed to know information regarding Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, 29, his new agent, and colleague Kylian Mbappe of France.
Pogba’s mother and attorney responded by claiming that Mathias is a member of a group trying to extort the player.
In response, Pogba’s mother and attorney issued a statement in which they claimed Mathias was a member of a group trying to extort the World Cup champion. Additionally, they acknowledged that there is a “ongoing investigation” and that the “appropriate authorities” in France and Italy are already aware of this.
Since then, the French police have stated that they have launched an investigation into Mathias and the allegedly “group-organized” crime. Pogba has been sidelined until after the World Cup in Qatar this winter after having surgery on his knee, as if this probe and the ensuing investigation were not enough of a hardship for him.
Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri stated that Pogba “trained for the second time but then stopped, and it was then determined that he undergo surgery.” “The World Cup is not my issue; Juventus’ issue is that he returns in January,” he said.
Despite everything that was going on, Pogba was upbeat as he wrote to his followers on Twitter on Tuesday in the afternoon: “Hi all, hope you are all well. Thank God, everything went smoothly with the operation; I’m well. We will soon get better and return. I want to thank you all for your support and words. Despite my injury and other issues, my mental health is good.
“Hold your head up. I’m with God, so I’m not alone. Anyway, I want to give a big thank you to everyone for their messages, their support, and all the messages I’ve seen on social media. I’m hoping we’ll return bigger shortly. And I send a smiley hello and a hug. Thank you, God, and see you soon.”
Mathias Pogba said in a follow-up video to his initial one that his brother had sought a witch doctor to put a spell on superstar Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain, with whom he won the World Cup in 2018. The older sibling asserted that this was only one of numerous revelations that would change how the public saw one of his generation’s best athletes.
When questioned about the allegations on Monday, Mbappe, in no uncertain terms, stood with his international teammate. About Pogba, he said: “I’m going to trust my teammate when he says something because it’s his word vs his brother’s word. Now is not the time to heap additional blame on him. I don’t really care about anything.”
