After an impressive start to his tenure at Old Trafford, Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen stated that it is a “honor” to be compared to United veteran Paul Scholes.
Eriksen joined Man United on a free transfer from Brentford in the summer. He claimed to have played against Scholes in the past.
Until June 2025, the international player from Denmark signed a contract.
Eriksen’s reunion with Erik ten Hag, manager of Man United, helped make it possible for him to recover from the cardiac attack he experienced at Euro 2020 by encouraging him to train with Ajax throughout his recovery.
Eriksen has started every game this season under Ten Hag and has tallied two assists.
Eriksen told Politiken, “It’s football in a nutshell and demonstrates how quick it is.
Of course, it’s wonderful to be compared to them, but you develop your own methods and brand. I was fortunate because I was able to compete with Paul Scholes. I’m pleased to be compared to him since he was a good player.
