Frank Lampard, the manager of Everton, claims that Manchester United made up for the errors that his team committed on Sunday.
Prior to halfway, Alex Iwobi gave the Toffees the lead before Antony restored parity.
The 700th goal of his glittering career by Cristiano Ronaldo then gave him the victory.
“[We could have] performed better in the first half,” Lampard told BBC Sport. We weren’t performing up to par. In the first half, we weren’t being who we usually are. I couldn’t identify it as an Everton team. We had some issues.
“When you make clear mistakes, Manchester United can punish you. It was a good reaction, good spirit, but the first half was not enough against a team of that level.
“Sometimes, we needed to put our foot on the ball and make some extra passes. Players have to make the decision to calm the game down. There can be an urgency to react.
“We’re a team who are building and putting things together so maybe a performance like that is understandable after some of our games lately.”
