Robert Lewandowski, a striker for Barcelona, has picked Karim Benzema of Real Madrid as his favorite to win the 2022 Ballon d’Or award.
Monday in Paris is the ceremony for this year’s award.
With his leadership on Los Blancos’ successful LaLiga and Champions League campaigns, Benzema has had an incredible year.
The 34-year-old scored 29 goals for Real in all leagues during the course of the season.
Lewandowski stated to Vamos prior to the award presentation that “Benzema is likely to win the Ballon d’Or… if they don’t cancel it.”
Lewandowski and Benzema will square off in Sunday’s El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu.
