Gerard Pique, a defender for Barcelona, announced his retirement on Thursday.
The 35-year-old claims that Camp Nou will host his final home game.
Before the Spanish league suspends for many weeks due to the World Cup, he will retire following Barcelona’s away game the following week.
The encounter between Barcelona and Almeria on Saturday will be Pique’s last.
“I’ve always said that there would be no other team after Barcelona and that’s how it will be,” the Spaniard wrote on social media.
“My final game at Camp Nou will be on Saturday.
“Like my parents did for me, I will become another fan and support the team, passing on my love for Barcelona to my kids.”
